The Avonlea Way: Jacob is ONE year old!!! Logan 2.5 years old

In mid-June we went to Norris Lake in Tennessee with Mom, Bill, Paul, Marney, Morgan, Madeline, Molly, Vince, Blake and Jackson. We had a really great time! It was fun having all the cousins together. At the end of the trip, Jacob got hand, foot and mouth disease.... it sounds worse than it is. It is a rash, that goes away after 5 days or so. So, Jacob was feeling pretty miserable on the drive home, but he hung in there!

While we were at Norris Lake the Cavs played Game 7 of the Finals. To say that Justin was ecstatic is an understatement. I was so incredibly pumped and I didn't even grow up rooting for them. Justin was freakin' PUMPED!!! (In April, Justin and I went to one of the play-off games in Cleveland on a Wednesday night.... it was super fun and I'm glad we can say we went to one play-off game!)

We went to Hide-a-Way Hills (1 hour away) to see our great friends, Matt and Lisa. Their 3 year old son, Liam, and Logan are best buddies. It is amazing how well they play together!! (We are going to Michigan with them later this summer, so that should be nice for Logan to have a buddy.). Matt and Lisa just had a baby girl, Estelle, so we went down there to meet her when she was one week old. We went to the Dam Jam and Logan and Liam had a great time.

Each night, when we say our prayers with Logan, we each go around and say what we are thankful for. Logan is always thankful for Harper (neighbor girl) and Liam. He usually remembers Jacob (Baycup) :) And recently, Logan has been thankful for Logan. Not quite sure how to tell him, you usually aren't thankful for yourself, haha.

Logan just moved up in Sunday school from the 2-2.5 yo room to the 2.5-3 yo room. So, he now has a monthly scripture memory verse. He gets a sticker chart and says it once a day. The verse is "You made the world and everything in it." (Psalm 89:11) I was trying to break it down 2 words at a time and have him repeat it... he wouldn't do it. So I said it again, 2 words at a time, and he just looks at me..... and then rattles off the whole thing! Lol. I just cracked up. Sorry, Logan, for going so slow!

We went to a Columbus Clippers game a few Saturdays ago. We splurged a little and got Club seats, so that we would have a little more room to move around. The boys had a great time! I think they mainly liked all the treats they got: ice cream, cotton candy, etc. We stayed for 2 hours, which I was glad about. We got up and walked around a few times. As we left, I told Justin, "That was a lot of work, but it was fun!" That is how things tend to be right now.... a lot of work, but fun. Jacob is just at that age, where he needs constant supervision. He really is walking everywhere now, but he can't go down steps, so that makes it hard. He loves to go up steps, but then doesn't know that he should get on his belly to go down the steps.

We had a really fun time at his birthday party. We just had family, since Justin's brother could come and Paul and family happened to be in town too. It was fun having all 8 of Jacob and Logan's cousins together for the first time!!

I can't believe Jacob is ONE! My precious little baby. He has such a sweet demeanor. He just melts my heart. He is going through a bit of a clingy phase right now and always wants to be with Mama, but I remember Logan being the same way. I'm sure it will pass. For now, I will hold tight to the extra snuggles.
